Who’s behind it
NovelPad has been made by the same small, independent team since 2020 — people who write, building the tool we wanted while writing. No venture treadmill, no pivot to something else. Just a novel-writing app, getting better most weeks.
We started NovelPad because every tool we tried treated a novel like a document — one long file, or a folder tree — when a novel is really a hundred scenes seen from a dozen angles. So we built the app around the story instead of the file, and we’ve spent the years since making it faster, calmer, and harder to lose work in.
Your novel lives on your machine and is fully editable offline. The cloud is a convenience we offer, not a leash we hold: cancel any time and your novels stay readable, and every draft exports to .docx whenever you want it. We would rather earn the renewal than hold your manuscript hostage.
We don’t ghostwrite your book and we don’t train anything on it. Your words are yours — not our dataset. In an era of writing tools racing to autocomplete the novel out of you, that’s a line we’re glad to hold.
